The RAPTOR™ series offers a wide range of opportunity in energy savings, from the diminutive RAP1 single lamp unit (excellent for task illumination) to the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, or 12 lamp units, which are perfect for installations ranging from retail lighting to warehouse illumination.

The EAGLE™ is an attractive, efficient alternative to parabolic office lighting, with excellent uniformity.

Our MONSOON™ wet location, NSF rated product is the original IP65 sealed & gasketed T5HO fixture designed for use in parking structures, freezers, canopies, and other installations exposed to the elements or harsh environments.

The MERLIN™ semi recessed luminaire will replace a 3-lamp lensed T8 or T12 troffer, and wash the ceiling with light to eliminate the 'cave effect'.

The HARRIER™ is a low-cost, efficient indirect system that is enclosed to protect against both dust accumulation and air-supply drafts that can reduce lumen output in other products.

Elmendorf Air Force Base

Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska is home to the YF-22 Strike Eagle the most technologically advanced fighter plane in the world.  The YF-22 is known as the RAPTOR.  The RAPTOR has a takeoff weight of 58,000#, a service ceiling of 65,000 feet and a top speed greater than Mach 2 (1520 MPH).  The RAPTOR is powered by two Pratt and Whitney engines producing 35,000# of thrust each.  THE BEST OF THE BEST!

The hangers are illuminated by The Light Edge, Inc. five lamp T5HO luminaires coincidently known as the RAPTOR™.  The RAPTOR™ luminaire has an operational ceiling of 80' and an operational temperature range between +168F and -20F.  THE BEST OF THE BEST!

NEC 410.73 (G)

Effective January 1, 2008 all new and replacement double-ended fluorescent-lamped luminaires will be required to have a disconnecting means either internal or external to the luminaire, to disconnect all ballast supply conductors.

The Light Edge addressed this in June of 2007 on all Canadian orders, satisfying the Canadian Electric Code (CEC) part 1, rule 30-308(4) which went into effect last summer.

Beginning December 1, 2007, all TLE products will contain this type of disconnect regardless of Voltage or country of destination.

The Light Edge ensures that all applicable codes and standards are followed in our product offerings.

Energy Partner Award

Drew Imlach (left), Maintenance Supervisor for the Durham District School Board (Durham, Ontario, Canada) was preented with the Energy Partner Award by The Light Edge VP of Engineering, Tony Adams LC MIES (right) and Dave Moore of WG Moore Lighting (not pictured).

Mr. Imlach received the award for his efforts in the design of a precedent-setting energy efficient lighting retrofit for the Brooklyn Village Public School gymnasium in Durham, ON. 

Replacing existing 400W MH highbay fixtures with 5-lamp RAPTOR™ luminaires not only saved over 40% on energy consumption, but allowed Drew to install zonal contols and connect to an 'aggregated consumption' modeling program that allows students to view results of their participation in energy-saving measures (see photo below of the zone controls and the ecoschool monitor installed in the school lobby).

As the Energy Partner Award states, the Durham District School Board was presented " for their efforts in the promotion of energy efficiency and environmental awareness to the benefit of their district, region, province and nation".
